The mere mention of typefaces and font foundries creates a flurry of interest in our studio so when we were asked to create a new online home for type foundry, The Northern Block we were already well acquainted with our subject matter and ready to get to work.
The site that we've created for Jonathan Hill – the man behind all of these carefully crafted, original typefaces – aims to mirror and match his contemporary typefaces and provide visitors with an exciting visual journey through his work and online store.
We used a grid-based system, with a real emphasis on functionality and clarity. The whole type library is accessible from the homepage and visitors can really play and explore the individual typefaces using the type tester tool.
