Our people and collaborators make everything we do possible and it’s their curiosity, talent and determination that drive each project forward. Our Smart + Small model means we have a diverse mix of creatives, coders and thinkers that we regularly team up with.
Your brief and project are what we look at when putting together our wider team so we can best fit your exact needs and challenges.

Rob Watson
Creative Director
After entering the industry as a Graphic Designer in 2004, Rob co-founded Raw just two years later in 2006, then in 2013 he took sole ownership of the studio. He now runs the studio alongside his business partner and wife, Ruth.
Rob has overseen and shaped the creative direction of the studio since day one, working with some of the biggest brands in the country, including the BBC, Channel 4, the Premier League, the NHS and Liverpool FC (a real highpoint for an avid red).
During Rob’s time the studio's work has been widely featured within the design press and recognised by some of industry’s most prestigious awards – Creative Review Annual, Design Week Awards and the International Society of Typographic Designers. Rob was also awarded Entrepreneur of the Year at the Salford Business Awards.
He is now a keen speaker and regularly visits universities around the country to share his experience and expertise with the latest up and coming talent.
Away from work Rob is a keen explorer, reader, health food enthusiast and he most recently completed a course in Permaculture Design.

Ruth Watson
Studio Director
Ruth has been part of the Raw team, helping to shape some of our most innovative and awarded projects, since 2009.
In her role as Copywriter, Project Manager, and now Studio Director, she has worked on a wide range of projects for clients including Nando’s, the BBC Philharmonic orchestra and the England and Wales Cricket Board. Ruth’s copywriting experience spans from website content and video scripts to branding campaigns and environmental graphics and signage.
Another key part of her role as both Project Manager, and now Studio Director, has been project planning and strategy for both clients and the studio itself. She has always been keen to pioneer a studio culture where equality and ethical projects are at the centre of our ethos, working alongside local artists and good causes on projects including Jim’s Scarf Project, Hands of Hope Romania and Let’s Talk Turkey.
Published through Raw’s little sister company, Make Work Play Lab, Ruth recently put her first children’s picture book, Len Legsworth, out into the world alongside illustrator Andy J. Miller. Always armed with an avocado, and never far from her hula hoop, Ruth loves cooking up healthy food and dancing when she’s away from her laptop.
