The Science of Imagination

Following the success of the last 10x10 exhibition – the prelude to the annual Design Manchester event – this year saw another line up of Manchester’s finest creating and collaborating, including Angela Roche from Design by Day, The Neighbourhood, and our very own Jane Bowyer.

The Science of Imagination was the brief, which as you can imagine, meant an eclectic, colourful, sensory – The Neighbourhood’s Mind Wave Cave installation actually involved a brain sensor which could sense the colour and mood of the mind – selection of works.

Jane teamed up with fellow Islington Mill residents, Textbook Studio to plot and build the foundations, including the all important ‘minifesto’, for the School of Imagination which sees students embark on a never-ending, global adventure of thinking, collaborating, and last but not least, playing!

Here are just a few pics of the final installation which included some beautifully etched, rescued slates from the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) roof.

Now, where do we enrol?
