Today sees the University of Salford's annual Create Salford festival spring into life at their new(ish) all-singing, all-dancing MediaCityUK campus. We worked with the University's team to create a look and feel for the arts and media festival, which includes a dynamic ever-changing 'C', an animated sting to showcase the diverse programme of disciplines, and a brand toolkit to give the event a strong and consistent presence, both on and offline.
We've been working with the School for the past six months to develop their printed materials and – with a couple of alumni from the School of Arts and Media in the studio – it's been a real pleasure to help shape the design for this flagship event.
Creating a platform for people to create something unique and personal to them was am important part of developing a feel for the festival. The dodecagonal grid which houses the 'C' offers a playground space, where the University and its students can create a range of shapes, patterns and illustrations to visualise the wide variety of creativity and talent on show.
We'll be heading down there tonight for the BLABMini talks and to check out The Create Cube which has an intriguing line-up of installations housed within its glass walls. Head over to the website for the full line-up of free events.
